Looking forward to a weekend with NO plans! Tall Guy is flying out to Texas, then turning around to share the drive with a friend of ours who is moving back to Florida. My weekend looks a lot like sun, pool and sleep. Not necessarily in that order. Before I completely check out, I’m checking in with my favorite Friday link-ups: Oh, Hey Friday, High Five for Friday, and Friday Favorites (add’l links below)!

Favorite Rediscovery This Week
Stay with me. I’ve been eating yogurt throughout my life. At my most recent place of employment, I had to eat lunch on site. Since I’m not very creative with packed lunches (i.e. lazy) yogurt was a staple. I ate it every day. When I no longer had to pack my lunch, I dropped the yogurt. Not out of dislike, simply to break the monotony. My best guess is that it had been about 6 months since I ate yogurt. Recently, Tall Guy was sick and requested soup, yogurt and ice cream. I accidentally purchased the wrong kind of yogurt for him – with fruit on the bottom (we both prefer blended). He ate some, but I also ate some to try and get it out of the fridge.
Holy moly. That yogurt was delicious. I was so excited that I stocked up on yogurt (the correct, blended, fat-free we usually get). Now. The yogurt is still delicious, but it’s not as good as the fruit-on-the-bottom. And I think the real issue here is that the fruit-on-the-bottom versions were also full fat. DAMMIT, FAT! Why do you make everything taste so good?!?!?
Favorite Cheese and Charcuterie Plate This Week
Yes, my life does revolve around food.
Courtesy of The Birchwood: (clockwise from top left) Citrus-Garlic olives, candied almonds, Tres Leche (cow, goat and sheep’s milk), Idiazabal with Julieanne apples over burnt caramel, prosciutto, San Simon, caper berries, quince paste and additional little sausages that were not described on the menu. It was so good we ordered a second plate. The second plate skipped the sausages and included pork belly.
Favorite Song This Week
Can’t Stop by Dondria. Not a new song, but one that finally shuffled onto my running playlist. I love this song!
