Friday Links

I had such a good time linking up for Friday last week that I’m doing it again. Free-falling into the weekend with Oh, Hey Friday, High Five for Friday (add’l links below) and Friday Favorites!

Favorite Song This Week

I finally got around to downloading Aloe Blacc’s album, Lift Your Spirit, from iTunes this week. The whole album is phenomenal. The songs are heartbreaking and inspiring and stir in your chest. Blacc’s voice and style are barely reminiscent of Stevie Wonder, but still entirely unique. Whoever gets to listen to this man croon around the house is a lucky, lucky person. After much debate, I chose Here Tomorrow. There isn’t an official video, yet, so just close your eyes and listen to this one. I dare you not to feel something.

Favorite Quote This Week

Tim Gunn Quote

“That’s how people should be about everything: whatever you’re doing, give it your all.” – Tim Gunn, Gunn’s Golden Rules

Favorite Accomplishment This Week

FINALLY getting started on the Closet Purge that I’ve been putting off. This is apparently going to be a much larger project than I anticipated – in a little under three hours, yesterday, I only managed to get through shoes. These are the shoes that are leaving the building. (*sniffle*)

Favorite PiYo Move This Week

Pigeon Pose. I’m finishing up my sixth week of PiYo. At the end of week five, I was very frustrated, and didn’t feel like I’d made any quantifiable (or visible) progress. However, this week, it suddenly feels like I’m finally properly using the muscles and doing the workouts. Almost like everything else was introduction and prep. That said, if there are still no visible results at the end of eight weeks, I’m going to be really pissed. As far as Pigeon Pose, it’s a stretch, not a strength-building move, but it’s heaven. HEAVEN, people. No, the woman in the image below is not me, it’s via breakingmuscle.com.

Favorite Healthy Choice This Week

Naked Boosted Green Machine smoothie. The company’s description is better than anything I could come up with:  “Looks weird.” Sip. “Tastes amazing.” Sip. “Like apples. And kiwi.” Sip. “Hey, 10 green turbo nutrients?” Sip. “Still looks weird.” It’s juice-based, but includes alfalfa, broccoli, barley grass, kale, parsley, spinach, and wheat grass. And this week I discovered that our local grocery carries a 2 quart size! Gotta get my veggies somehow.

I would love to do Piyo! I don’t know of anywhere that offers it where I live. Now that II have read your post, I need to get cleaning and organizing. Thank you so much for linking up to High Five For Friday.

You’ll feel so much better once your closet purge is done! It’s one of my favorite things to do, but it can take forever and be really difficult. Keep going! Thanks for linking up with us at H54F!! Hope to see you tomorrow!
