Unbreakable, birds and classic comedy – Friday Link-Ups

It seems like 11:00 is turning into my “regular” Friday post publication! Nothing wrong with that, right? I’m still hanging out with my favorite Friday link-ups – Oh, Hey Friday, High Five for Friday, and Friday Favorites (add’l links below) – to share five of my favorite things from this week!

Favorite Company

Bath & Body Works. Earlier this week I began drafting a post about recent struggles with customer service. While writing, I was reminded of what was possibly the best customer service experience that I’ve ever had. You can read the whole story here. After having your socks blown off, you’ll have one more excuse to snag goodies in one of their new fall scents. My current favorite are the Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow candles!

Favorite Neighborhood Moment

Despite living in Florida for nearly ten years, now, (holy crap – it’s been almost ten years!) there are certain things that continue to make me smile, no matter how many times I see them. Two of those smile-inducing things are birds. White Ibis and Wood Storks get me. Every. Time. The Wood Storks always make me think of slightly older men, a little grumpy and full of character. Earlier this week I snagged a picture of one such gentleman, just strolling down the sidewalk.

Also, follow me on Instagram, why don’t you?

Favorite Rediscovery

Thank you, Netflix. Thank you for showing me, once again, the brilliance that is The Dick Van Dyke Show. Classic humor that showcases a more elegant way of living. Dinner parties! Dinner parties where the attendees sing, dance and otherwise show off their talents. And, oh, the cinched waists, full skirts, cropped pedal-pushers and structured capelets!

Favorite Song

Powerful by Major Lazer, featuring Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley. While I do enjoy a few (very few) songs Goulding sings, I generally find her to be overrated. This song, which creates tension by showing controlled strength (in both voices), is more impressive than her usual fare.
