#TBT Girls Trips

I credit the inspiration behind this post to Jennifer over at The Champagne Supernova. She wrote a lovely post about annual vacations with her college girlfriends, and it got me all nostalgic and sentimental about what used to be annual Girls Trips with my college girlfriends.

To be fair, there are many occasions in my life which are labeled as “Girls” events, and they’re not all the same girls. However, when I refer to a Girls Trip, I’m referring to vacations with six of my sorority sisters. We are now scattered across the country and no two of us are close enough (geographically) to hang out on a regular basis. As is usually the case, as our lives progress there are that many more complications to trying to get all seven of us to one place at the time. Husbands, jobs and children – 9, at last count – have a tendency to infringe on our Girl Time, and it’s been too long since our last reunion.

I submit the following images of lifelong friends in honor of #TBT and girlfriends everywhere. Also fun – check out the advancements that have been made in digital photography over the years!

Chicago – the First Annual Halloween Bash

Girls Trip Chicago 2003

Las Vegas – oddly, not a lot of photos from this trip, and this was the closest to a group shot

Vegas 2005

San Diego – short one trooper

Girls Trip San Diego 2006

Tucson – the last official Girls Trip (ahem, *cough* *cough*)

Girls Trip Tucson 2008

I’m sure that Jennifer and I aren’t the only ones with this sort of tradition – I’d love to hear about your own trips and how you keep the ties tight over the years and the miles.

I’d also like to hear from Allie, Jenny, Susan, Kara, Kelly and Colleen for dates for the NEXT trip. Nashville 2015?

Well, I’m also thinking a Siesta Key reunion is necessary. Warn Noah now! And thank you for the compliment 🙂
