Lazy sushi celebrity – #HASHTAGHUMPDAY confessions

Since I’m only starting this post at 11:10 pm, can we all guess what my first confession will be? Go check out the hosts, Life with Lolo for #HASHTAGHUMPDAY and Alanna & Company for Humpday Confessions, and join me in linking up next week!

This morning, as Tall Guy and I parted ways, he asked what I’d be doing today. My list began with “writing a blog post.” The other things on the list haven’t been done, either. It’s strange, it seems as though the tasks don’t actually get done just by wanting them to be done. #butIsawitonBewitched #andIdreamofJeanie #maybeIblinkedwrong

I’m being facetious. Obviously I know that things do not magically happen, just by wishing them. So along with the confession that I made it through the day without completing any of the tasks that I intended, is the confession that despite truly wanting to accomplish things – you know, do the work and reap the rewards – sometimes I just don’t want to do anything. And I don’t mean that lazy feeling of “I’d rather lay on the couch.” I mean a legitimate desire to NOT do the things that I want to do. #confusingbutEXACTLYwhatitfeelslike #maybeitsasortofrebellion #nothingcanbeimportanttoo

While I feel frustration, and some guilt, about my lack of accomplishment today, here’s something I don’t feel guilty about:

My favorite sushi restaurant, which is potentially the best sushi I’ve ever eaten (and that’s saying a LOT), recently moved to a new location. Or, rather, they recently opened at a new location. The owners were anticipating about one month of lag time between the closing of the old location and the opening of the new. The actual downtime was almost exactly one year.

The Grand Opening occurred while we were on vacation. We finally scheduled our first meal back, with friends, for this past Saturday. On Thursday prior, another couple invited us out for the wife’s birthday. To sushi. At the spot we’ve been going while waiting for our favorite place to reopen.

We went out for sushi on Friday night. And Saturday night. And on Saturday night we got enough sushi to fill a boat. Plus our appetizers. And we probably snuck a few pieces off our friend’s sushi boat, as well.

Aside from the best sushi, ever, there’s another reason we love going to this particular restaurant. Because they know us. Now, to be fair, a large part of that is because Tall Guy is so tall. Everyone always remembers him. However, the real reason that they know us, as a couple, is because we eat so much. Not kidding. The first few times we went, the waitresses were unable to disguise their shock at the amount of food we were ordering. The sushi chefs would actually nudge each other and nod our direction, amazed that we not only ordered it, but we ate it. All of it.

Now that they’ve become accustomed to our appetites, they’re no longer quite so amazed by our feats of eating, but they do still find it entertaining. #itskindoflikebeingacelebrity #whereeverybodyknowsyourname

And now all I can think about is sushi. Happy (belated) #HASHTAGHUMPDAY!

We used to have a favorite restaurant where they knew us too and it was the best. They even knew our orders and just brought things out without asking. It was kind of magical. And then it closed. I’m super depressed every time I think about it too. Best dang taco salad around.

It is the WORST when your favorite restaurant closes. I’m so sorry 🙁 Hopefully you guys will find a new taco salad soon!

Sushi isn’t for me but go you! And then for random things:
I totally get the wanting to do nothing. But not a lazy nothing. Like, DO NO- THING (ha, see what I did there?!). Also, I love that used the word facetious. It’s too under-used in my opinion.

It’s like Amy Poehler says, “Good for you, not for me.” And you totally get it. NO THINGS!

Let me know your thoughts on this
