It is just past 10:00 p.m. as I start this post. This morning, Tall Guy woke me up early and said, “Hey, I’m going to cut up those last pieces of wood from the deck, then how about we throw the old couches in my truck, take them to the dump and go get lunch somewhere.” It sounded like a good, simple, plan.
Somehow I ended up digging trenches to follow, and pull out, the last few pipes (five of them) from the hot tub (removed with the deck). The pipes ran under sprinkler piping, turned corners and ran alongside a row of rapid-growing bushes. So, roots. Three hours later everything was in the truck, but we were covered in dirt and sweat. It was sometime after three when we finally finished a late lunch and headed back home.
We were home for less than 30 minutes before we headed to the banks. Three of them (we like to spread our accounts around), and suddenly decided to go bowling. What?
Today has been a great day, but my original plans for the day included NONE OF THOSE THINGS. I ramble. So, very late, but nonetheless enthusiastic, I’m checking in with my favorite Friday link-ups: Oh, Hey Friday, High Five for Friday, Friday Favorites and Oh Hot Damn, This is My Jam (add’l links below)!

Favorite Dream This Week
Today, at lunch, I ran into the owner of the bridal boutique at which I used to work. It was entirely unexpected and threw me into a glass case of emotion (stay classy, San Diego). Deciding to leave my position as a bridal consultant/stylist was a really difficult decision. The more time that passes, the more clear it is that leaving was the right decision. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t miss it. I miss so many things about working at the boutique.
Somehow, I started daydreaming about how I would change things at the boutique if I were in charge. I was moving walls, moving inventory and restyling the decor in my head. I considered pitfalls of taking over an existing business and coming up with creative solutions to potential problems. I was figuring out how to keep on the valuable (priceless, really) staff that are already there and reduce their workload while increasing benefits.
It was a beautiful little daydream. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Favorite Confusion This Week
Earlier this week I mentioned having trouble knowing what day it was. I’m still thrown off, although in a different direction. I had no idea that Tall Guy was taking the day off, today, and with everything that we did, it feels very much like Saturday. The best part of this is that tomorrow will be Saturday all over again! Hooray for an unexpected long weekend!
