Hoarding, healthy eating and evasiveness – #HASHTAGHUMPDAY

It’s Wednesday, which makes me think of the Geico camel commercials. Before I get on with #HASHTAGHUMPDAY, a little rant about those camel commercials. The first commercial, with the camel in the office on hump day, totally hysterical. The second commercial, with people at the zoo, yelling at the camels? Lame. Not only was it genuinely not as funny, it was also such a clear, desperate attempt to recreate the buzz of the first camel ad, but without doing any real work. THAT’S JUST LAZINESS, AD-PEOPLE!!! Moving on… linking up once again with Laura over at Life With Lolo, for #HASHTAGHUMPDAY!

Over the weekend I began cleaning up the office. Again. On Sunday I spent over two hours going through a stack of pages I’d ripped out of magazines. You see, whenever I see something that I love, or a book I want to read, or a quote I want to save… I fold that page in the magazine. Once I have a hefty pile of magazines, I go back through and tear out all the folded pages (if I can remember why I folded them) and make a nice, tidy stack of things to go back to when I have more time. These stacks eventually traveled to the top shelf in the office. It had become a sea of magazine pages. Some of the pages were dated 2007. #itsasystem #hoarder #somedayIllfindthetime

Adam has finally gotten to his own personal breaking point and now wants to eat only healthy foods. Here’s why this is a problem: I’ve been eating more healthfully for some time now, and I like it. However, I also like to have cheat moments (days) and could count on Adam as a conduit to culinary indulgences. A recent trip to the grocery store, together, indicated this is going to become nearly impossible. Instead of me taking a handful of his Doritos to satisfy a craving, I’m supposed to grab a handful of… celery? On the flip side, just before he decided to go healthy he’d purchased Ben & Jerry’s Caramel Core ice cream. And now he refuses to eat it. So I’m supposed to eat ALL OF IT??? Yes, that’s right. I’m going to blame him both ways. He is both preventing me from, and forcing me to, eat delicious junk food. #celeryisntfood #iloveeating #itsallhisfault

I have not won the lottery. #waiting #itcouldhappen

The first time I linked up with Laura, the fourth item on my list referred to an outstanding smoked salmon eggs Benedict I’d eaten over the weekend. We’ve been back every weekend since. Just so I could have the smoked salmon Benedict. #creatureofhabit #iloveeating #kaletonicbalanceditout

I dipped my toe into a new adventure. I’m not willing to disclose it, yet, for fear of jinxing things (plus, that’s what Bloggers do, right? Give vague references to something SUPER AWESOME but then not divulge any details?), but my first lesson/session was a very cool experience. Also, it’ll push my comfort boundaries, which is always a good thing. #crypticandvague #bloggerstyle #practicemakesperfect

Happy #HASHTAGHUMPDAY, all! #thatsallshewrote

I always order a benedict when we go to breakfast/brunch. Screw habit, I’m addicted. We’re also on the path to eating healthy via the push from the boyfriend. Usually when we do this it’s short lived though. Hopefully we can sustain it!

It’s not that I’m against all healthy eating – it’s just the all-or-nothing approach that kills me. Are you guys going cold turkey, no junk at all?

Dayum lady no more binge snacks!!! Better get on Pinterest to find something healthy to fix the crave 🙂 atleast guac and salsa is super healthy – so I’m sure u can still convince him nachos are needed and just load them with veggies.

And now I’m craving smoked salmon bennies

That’s true! Guac is a healthy fat! I need a good (fairly easy) recipe for guac. Somehow it’s something I’ve never gotten around to making.

Awe, I’ve only seen the 2nd humpday commercial once, and I thought it was funny. Though at work when people ask me what day it is I roll my eyes. #overit I love that you’ve been back multiple weekend in a row for the same dish, that sounds like something I’ve would do!!

Well, I figure it’s a skoch healthier than my last brunch spot obsession – cinnamon roll French toast. Yeah. It IS as good as it sounds.

Update: last night was a nearly $500 million Powerball in Florida. I did not win that, either.

That does sound delicious! And I like the clever name, instead of just calling them crab cake Benedicts. I should come up with a good name for the smoked salmon Bennie…
